Frequent questions
Our BIOCHAR is pure. It can be directly spread or incorporated into nutrient rich soils. For nutrient poor soils it is recommended to apply BIOCHAR together with slow release organic fertiliser sources, such as CHTIN WORM HUMUS, manure or compost. The BIOCHAR holds on to nutrients and releases them slowly to provide long term plant nutrition.
BIOCHAR is a universal soil conditioner that can be used for almost all crops. Good results so far were achieved with tomatoes, peppers, chilli peppers, aubergines, courgettes, salads, olive trees, grapevine, hemp, lawns and much more. Use small doses with acidophilic plants and flowers.
BIOCHAR is a multi-year soil conditioner and source of slow release nutrients.
Fruit plants: apply during planting in the furrow or spread a light layer of product under established plants every 3-5 years.
Vegetables: apply on the soil before sowing and lightly mix.
Grapevine: apply during planting in the furrow or spread a light layer of product under established plants every 3-5 years.
In case of drought prone soils, apply annually during the tillage phase and mix lightly with existing soil
Potted plants: Mix BIOCHAR (10% by volume) with pot soil (90%). If pots are already filled with soil, spread a light layer of BIOCHAR on top and slightly mix with the soil.
Vegetables: If plants are transplanted, please distribute a spoonful of BIOCHAR near the roots. During sowing apply a teaspoon of BIOCHAR near the seed furrow or distribute evenly on the surface of the soil (approx. 0.5L / m2).
Trees and shrubs: Apply a light layer of BIOCHAR on the surface (0.5L / m2), ideally lightly rake the material in. During planting, please distribute some material at the bottom of the pit.
Lawn: Apply approximately 0.5L of product per m2 of surface.
Large surfaces: Apply 5m3 of BIOCHAR per hectare.
